The sacred Cerenna
At a time when the war between the empire of Terra Ankor and the empire of Aeris Ankor raged, the small village of Shirrer was between the frontlines. The men of the village had long been recruited from both sides and fought and died on the battlefields of this conflict. So it was that nobody was there to protect Shirrer, when the armies of Aeris Ankor were advancing with the terrible Viinshar. The women scraped up their belongings, all they could carry and fled into the nearby forest. While the people of Shirrer hid between the bushes they had to watch as the enemy troops burned the village.
But the terrible Viinshar were not satisfied. With their unholy senses they sensed the hiding place of the peaceful villagers and led the enemies to the forest. The fugitives were terrified, there was no way out, the forest was too small and the elderly and children too slow to escape.
At that moment Cerenna revealed herself to the villagers, she was an outcast witch who had lived in the forest for decades. She recognized the plight of the Shirer people and, despite everything, offered them help: through the power of her magic dolls, she inflicted abject pain on the advancing enemies, slowing their advance, while she brewed a mysterious potion: it had the power to make invisible, but only if someone had previously given his life by taking the first sip. And so it happened that for every one who became invisible, another died. It is said that Cerenna sacrificed herself or died through the magic of her dolls, but rumors that she herself survived never died. That is why she is still not considered a saint of the Bone Queen, but this doesn't change much concerning the devotion of her followers.
In some stories Cerenna plays a more evil role. She laughed at the fate of the people from Shirrer who had once cast her out. She kills all the old and raises the young herself. She captures the Viinshar and uses their dark powers. These variations have also contributed to the fact that Cerenna's reputation remains a twofold one to this day, and her recognition as a saint is probably still to come. There is a small, semi-secret order of Cerenna, to which only women belong. These women are recruited from all walks of life and meet once a year on Silent Hill for a large, secret ceremony. The order's mission is to establish Cerenna's recognition as a saint and to pass on and preserve the magic of the dolls within the order. Of course, members of this order are also faithful to the Bone Queen.
