The holy St. Vitoria

Listen to the story of Saint Vitoria, the Keeper of the Purity of the Shrines of Terra Ankor. And behold, when the world was still younger and the Second Creation had not yet retreated under the seals, there lived a woman named Vitoria. Her faith in the Queen was strong, so strong that her body shone with purity and beauty. She never had to pay an apothecary, never had to sew her skin.

However, Vitoria was not a vain Ankorian. She was modest and devout to the Queen, always caring for the weak and wrapping her body in such shabby rags as only outcasts wear, for she was a humble person and grateful for the gift her Queen gave her. So she thanked the queen and swore: „By my soul I will praise and worship you, O my Queen. I will pay tribute to you and visit all your holy places in this land. I will pay tribute to you and all these places as pure as you keep my own body pure. Thus speaks Vitoria, who is known as the Pure.“

And she swore by her soul, and from then on she went from town to town, from village to village, and from shrine to shrine, to pay homage to the Queen and to tend her places. And behold, there were the followers of the ancient Elements, and they envied the Second Creation its gifts. In their envy and ignorance they destroyed many of the shrines of the Queen. When Vitoria saw this, she cried out: „Woe to you who dare to desecrate the places of her holiness! I swore to keep these places pure, as pure as my body. But what is the purity of my body worth if I can stop these heretics?“

And she implored the Queen, „Oh, my lady. The shame of having broken my vow is too great. Let me atone for it. If my body is not sufficient to preserve Your Holiness, let my body suffer in the place of Your places.“ And so it was done. And Vitoria suffered many wounds and her pain was great. But the glory of her task gave her new strength. To this day, she continues to bear the pain of desecration, until the day when the desecration ends and the glory of the Bone Queen is complete.
