The Sound of Pain
As a member of the Brotherhood of Silent Judgement, it is important to always have arrows in your quiver. I was almost out of arrows and was ordered to recover more close to the frontlines. The heat was killing the settlers, which meant a stall mate in the battle. I knew the best chance to recover arrows was now, and between the two battle lines. I crawled around in the dirt, looking for arrows. The settlers looked surprised at the brave archer moving so close without any protection. Was I brave or stupid? I ripped an arrow out of a dead settler, broken, no luck. I looked around and my eyes fell upon an unlucky archer with an arrow in his head. I could see his quiver, laying in the mud. Quickly I crawled closer to him, lured by the almost full quiver the dead archer had left behind. Fool, why did he wait to shoot his arrows, this is war, you never know when your fate is sealed. I reached the quiver and began releasing it from the corps. Then I realized, I was close to the settler frontline, too close.
The sound of metal clashing against each other made my body freeze. I looked up and saw heavy plated soldiers running with all haste towards me. Was this is, was this my end in the service of the Lady? I could not look away from the charge of metal running towards me, ready to smash me, like a bug.
NO! I refuse, the Lady demands my service and I will fight until my corpse crumbles. I pulled one of the arrows out of the dead archer`s quiver and pointed it at the heavily armed soldiers. I just needed to hit an opening. Then I heard it. Behind me. Another sound. Getting louder and louder as it came closer. I smiled, because I realized what the sound meant. The sound was the same as the one before me, metal clashing against each other. Fast, heavy and with no remorse, The Knights Of The Revenant Order rushed from my side into the settler soldiers. The settlers, shocked from the speed and sudden appearance of the heavily armored undead knights, stopped their charge about five meters from me. Their hesitation meant their doom. The Lady`s immortal guardians entered the fray to crush them, swinging their mighty swords. I returned my attention to the quiver, got it loose and returned to my captain. Now it was my turn to show the Revenant Order my support, by sending a rain of holy fire upon our foes. FOR THE EXARCH OF AGONY! FOR THE LADY!
A faithful archer of The Brotherhood Of Silent Judgement
