On the four Realms of our present-day
After the settlers had landed on the shores of Mythodea and erected the first huts and dwellings, the first groups soon began to set off for the interior of the country. These daring ones were guided by the Ouai, a brotherhood of Elemental people who knew the land like the back of their hand and were friendly to the newcomers; for their ancestral prophecies said the settlers were their long-gone creators and gods. These Ouai led the settlers straight to a building from ancient times, a pyramid, which was sacred to them and which they believed to hide a great evil that the returned gods, i.e. the settlers, would have to defeat in order to gain the right to the land to live to win.
The courage of these first settlers is admirable, as they awakened the magic of old in this place and thus rose to the challenge. However, no one was prepared for the fact that the Ouais prediction was not just to be taken at face value, but on the contrary described in an almost too harmless way what then came to light. And even less that the Elements, the supreme gods of their country, of which the Ouai constantly adored, were not superstition and dreams of old, but very real and ready to intervene. So the settlers soon found themselves in a deadly conflict between these five Sacred Elements and their adversaries, the Forsaken Elements, which they had to liberate themselves in order to be allowed to inhabit the land. In every cardinal point of the continent lay a pyramid under which one of these outcasts lay locked. Over the years, as settlement progressed, a total of four sealed pyramids were found and opened. And four empires were founded by the settlers around them. These realms are each ruled by two powerful priests of the Sacred Elements called "Archon" and " Nyame ". Each of these kingdoms is at war with the Forsaken, for although four of these are free, not a single one has been defeated so far...
East - Ignis
In the East lies the first realm, between an unfathomable lake plateau, the ocean over which the settlers came and an impassable continental mountain range. Ignis, the eternal flame, is the patron Element of the Realm, whose crest is a golden phoenix against a drop of red blood. The seal once held the nemesis of fire, the Black Ice, the first Forsaken Element to be freed. It still waits on the borders of the empire and is the main enemy on the battlefield for the settlers in these lands.
In the Eastern Seal, the Archon is at the same time king, who controls a well-ordered and strictly managed empire that his dukes, counts, barons and knights manage as fiefdoms and estates. Everyone has their designated place and duty in the East, given to them through right of birth or assigned by the will of the Elements manifesting as destiny. Prosecuted sympathizers or even accomplices of the Forsaken are persecuted with all severity, just as there is no room for shady characters, political lateral thinkers, those belonging to dark races or cults, supporters of chaos, gloomy magicians or priests of false idols, self-proclaimed freethinkers and those who do not want to submit to the feudal system of rule in the East. One is proud that order and law prevail in the kingdom.
However, the empires of the East were always the scene of internal and external conflicts, political intrigues, and power struggles. Of these, one can be deemed the most severe of them all, an intrigue of the void, of Aeris nemesis, through which the entire capital of the Eastern Empire burned in an inferno of fire around the opened Seal Pyramid, and an entire duchy was infiltrated by agents of the Void, and only liberated by military force in a ghastly civil war.
Conflicts with other neighboring realms also flare up here and there. Those who settle in the East do so because they value a kingdom with clear laws and rulers who strictly follow the Sacred Elements, because they love truth and justice and abhor everything dark, shady, inhuman and dubious.
North - Aeris
To the North is the second Realm, enclosed between the lake plateau to the East, the icy ocean to the North, and the impassable continental chain of mountains to the South. Around the seal under which the Absolute Void lay buried, the territories of the Northern Realm expand. Just one year after the liberation of the Black Ice, the army of settlers released Aeris' nemesis into the world. Aeris is therefore the patron Element of the settlers in the North.
The North is ruled by a nowadays very experienced Nyame, hailing from the people of the dark elves. Despite countless assassination attempts, betrayals by her former archon, and political intrigues , no one has been able to overthrow the high priestess as long as the empire has existed. Even the attempt to challenge the ruler, who, although she is committed to the Sacred Elements, has allowed freedom of belief in her lands, strengthened her position rather than weakened it. Together with her new Archon, she rules a realm in the name of the elements where beings of all kinds and origins can roam freely, as long as they do not challenge their supremacy. Many who, because of their race, beliefs, or powers, did not want to join any of the other realms found a home in the North. Those who settle in the North do so because they know that the world is not just black and white. Those who want to be measured by the success of their deeds and not by status, origin or race, who seek their happiness in intellectual freedom and strive for power, knowledge and freedom from narrow-minded morality, will find like-minded people in the North.
West - Aqua
To the West, encircled by the central mountain range to the East, the uncharted sea to the West, bordering the Northern Realm to the North and fading into the vast plains of Shan Meng Ray to the South, extends the third Realm. Aqua the Eternal Stream is the patron Element of these lands, for the seal once contained the Oily Pestilence, the Forsaken counterpart of Aqua. The realm is ruled by an Archon and Nyame of the Celtic people and especially the High Priestess is respected and revered by everyone in the realm; as she herself comes from the common people and carries out the dignity and majesty of her office with human warmth, kindness and unconditional love to the Elements and their subjects. Together with her archon, she is united in a realm that includes a variety of settlers from a wide variety of peoples who, despite some difficult moments, have always stood united and firmly together over the past 10 years. As time passes by, they are now in the process of growing together into large kin of the West.
Anyone who settles in the West does so because they love peace and freedom, support their neighbors in a friendly manner, even if they come from foreign regions or cultures, and works together with them to build a realm in which not only everyone can make their own fortune, but will be part of creating a community that can rightly call declare itself as such.
South - Terra
To the South, on a separate portion of the continent, lies the Fourth Realm, cradled to the North and East by the sea separating the Northern from the Southern continent; the snow-capped peaks of unsurpassed mountains to the South, and the undead-held plains to the West. Terra, the Eternal Rock, is the patron Element of the realm, for the seal in these lands once held Terras nemesis, the Undead Flesh. From the beginning, the settling of the South was a hard work full of deprivations. The seal was not opened by the hands of the settlers around the explorer and leader Paolo Armatio , but by a group of high elves who had found their own way to Mythodea. So it is that today the seal is firmly in the hands of the Undead, even the center of the cursed city of Ankor Mortis. The settlers of the South are in constant battle with the walking corpses. Rulers of the South are Archon and Nyame , who are adamant about the Sacred Elements and lead a small population of brave and tenacious settlers. After a long struggle, the first successes have been recorded in recent years: it was possible to take the nightmarish fortress of Doerchgard and free Terra's avatar from the sealed dungeon. Nevertheless, a number of large cities in the south have been under siege for years and Ankor Mortis, the capital of the Undead Flesh, awaits at the end of the long war like a shadow of despair. Those who settle in the South do so because they know that one must never give up when one fights for the just cause and the land of one's children. Anyone who seeks adventure and battle and who, with the stubbornness of an iron-veined boulder, does not flinch from danger and terror and can face death with a firm gaze, will find his destiny in the South.
