Scout Reports
Scout Report: Southern Seal scouts, spring,
Undead Flesh spotted south of the Halephian Forest. Serveral Banners present. Scout recommendation, avoid this region until significant force present
Synopsis: No immediate Threat to current Crusade Objectives
Scout Report: East Blackwood Scouts and Märkische Bund rumor, late spring,
Fresh changes in the land with new growth dating the land charges to be less than two years old and within the timeframe of the results of the cataclysm. River tributaries have many sandbars where there were none before. New river tributaries discovered
Synopsis: Old maps can now only be used as a lose reference. Upper river networks traversable and ships with shallow displacement.
The coastline has changed considerably from the old maps. The river delta is very wide and in principle easily navigable, but there are quite a few sandbanks and shoals. We were able to record some of them
The western coastal strip offers several small bays and sandy beaches deep into the country. Here a landing would be possible at many places. From the water. the ruins of abandoned buildings could be seen again and again, sometimes individually, sometimes the remains of entire villages.
There was no enemy contact. The western bank appeared largely untouched, but in places, forests grow close to the water, which could provide good protection for an enemy force.
The river delta appeared to be free of Skargen ships, but on the return trip, northward, two Skargen ships were sighted.
Information received by letter from Naval Captain in service to Zweiwasser an the Crusade.
Synopsis: Skargen are reportedly in the area but the lands of East Khal’Hatra offer many landing options but also many areas where Forsaken ambushes could be possible. With the newly developing tactics of the Black Dynasty, one should be careful not to be surprised by them acting out of the norm.
Scout Report: Embassy Guard, Corporal Annabel “IronSkull”,
Black Dynasty movements spotted in the northeastern region of Khal’Hatra just after the second river tributary south from the confluence of tributaries. There is currently no indication that the Black Ice have been far enough north to find our supply fort.
Supply shipments headed south down the river have get to spot Black Ice or Skargen movements but we know they are there
Synopsis: Further scouting missions are needed to track movements. Current range of scouting missions from East Blackwood cannot reach far enough into Khal’Hatra to determine the extent of Forsaken occupation in the region nor the direction of travel
Scout Report: East Blackwood, spring to late spring,
Access to Khal’Hatra through the desert to the south of the Empire of the Roses appears relatively open. Scouts have had no enemy contact, but there are always fortified towers or small castles on the mountains and their foothills that are intact and probably held by the Forsaken. From there, a larger force could be spotted if not very careful.
Synopsis: Khal’Hatra’s existing infrastructure and fortifications are likely being used by the Forsaken. From their elevation and unobstructed view, large troop movements can be easily spotted.
Scout Report: Forward Camp C, Captain Varn,
A large force of Black Ice spotted moving slowly towards Camp C.
Synopsis: There are too many für Camp C to hold out for a long against should they attack. Request for reinforcement and extra supplies sent. Defenses prepared.
Scout Report: Zweiwasser, Gorasia, spring,
There seems to be at least one active volcano in the mountains of Khal’Hatra. At least, large clouds of smoke and ash were seen there several times, dispersed very slowly by the wind.
Synopsis:For now, the volcano does nor pose an immediate threat, but it still needs to be scouted in the future.
Scout Report: Dragon Guard, Molly,
In the hinterland of the great river there are small fortresses of the Black Ice. At least three have been seen there. Whether they are occupied or not was difficult to discover
Synopsis: The fortresses should be further scouted for enemy troop movements and evaluated for siege. We will need to secure one of these and restore it for use in the Crusade. Siege weapons are under construction, but more will be needed.
Scout Report: Forward Camp C,
Ship or boat spotted briefly but it disappeared behind a bend in the river too fast to get a reliable look at it. Scouts are unsure what type of boat it was or who it belonged to.
Synopsis: Exercise caution and be aware of potential faring enemies.
